WP2 – Progressive methods of biomass gasification and pyrolysis with suppressed CO2 formation
Part of the research coordinated by VUT FSI deals with modern methods of gasification and pyrolysis in order to minimize the production of pollutants.
Research on the use of new fuels
An analysis of fuels available on the market was carried out, available databases were found and properties of fuels were selected for research. Furthermore, standards and the development of methodologies for measuring individual quantities were studied. The analysis of the condition of laboratories was performed and the required equipment was obtained, the necessary apparatuses and instruments were prepared (service, calibration, purchase of consumables).
Reduction of N2 from gas
Research of available mathematical models and analysis of necessary data for mathematical model were performed. Based on this, the basic calculation schemes for the balance calculation schemes were created, the development of the mathematical model was started and the basic variants were determined. Furthermore, a plan of experiments and gasification tests with other media was prepared and pilot tests and their evaluation were carried out, based on which the gasification unit adjustments were proposed.
